It’s been worth the wait! Professional Awesome has been working diligently with Fortune Auto to bring front coilovers to the market for ZE1, first generation Honda Insights. We’ve paid particular attention to getting just the right spring rates and damper curves to give improved ride quality, as well as a sports car feel to our beloved little hybrids.
Built to order
We’ve made the decision to do all future Insight coilovers on a built to order basis. That means there is about a 4-6 week turnaround for most orders going forward. That being said, we have plenty of parts, so no major delays are foreseen!
We have two options available now!
First, a set designed for the folks out there doing K-Swaps and using EM2 hubs with our Professional Awesome Ball Joint Adapters. Second, a bolt-in stock replacement that’s designed to for those stock Insight owners looking to lower their car, improve the car’s handling capabilities or simply replace hard to find stock components.
A few caveats
For those interested in stock replacement coilovers (K-swap coilovers are not an issue). The bolt on mounts work perfectly in the hubs, but the brake line and ABS line bracket do not. It was designed around Civic brakes and will not allow for the stock lines to bolt in correctly. Sadly, the only option is to use zip ties to safely secure the lines to ensure they do not snag on anything. A solution is in the works, so the initial buyers will receive a discount accordingly… but we don’t know how long it will take to get the mounts redesigned and our costs keep going up. You’ve been warned if you decide you want to wait it out!
